Energy and Climate Change Community Engagement Sessions – Métis Nation of Alberta

Do you work in the energy sector or have thoughts about the transition away from fossil fuels? All Citizens of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government are welcome for conversation about where our energy comes from, the changing climate and how we advocate for Métis needs.
Traditional decision-making often overlooks the needs and interests of fossil fuel workers, Indigenous peoples, and our communities. These sessions aim to cut through the noise by engaging in discussions specific to the Citizens of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.

- A $100 honorarium for your time and contributions
- Reimbursement for travel expenses, or arranged transportation (available upon request)
- Reimbursement for child- or dependent-care as needed.

This marks the first of three sessions we will host in Karhiio. It will serve as the foundation for discussions in the following two sessions, helping to shape topics that better align with community interests.
We previously held three successful sessions in Dene and Sherwood Park, which were completed in late 2024 and early 2025.
